Policeman accused of sexual assault

It has been learnt that Muhammad Idrees had lodged a theft complaint with the Sihala Police Station against three women working as sweepers at his poultry farm. He accused the three women Gudi, Hanifa and Bibi of stealing crockery worth Rs. 7, 000.

Sihala police arrested the three women and kept them in detention for several hours before handing them over to the Women Police Station. The women police station Sitara Market registered the case of theft against them and SHO ASI Naseem appointed Sub Inspector Bashir as the interrogation officer, who tortured them and allegedly sexually assaulted them and later sent them to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.

However Bashir Ahmed has maintained that he did not assault any of the three women and there was no one to give their bails. Therefore they were sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand, while DSP Nighat Mujtaba said that she has no knowledge of such an incident.
