Police team to look into-Kari case

KARACHI, April 28 2006: The have formed a joint investigation team to look into the horrific case of 14-year-old Karo-Kari survivor who was shot five times by her cousins, who then had left her to die. Noor Jehan had dragged herself out of the ditch after her cousin left.

She was saved by the police, who immediately had taken her to the Baqai hospital, from Where she was shifted to the JPMC. Jehan is still at the Jinnah hospital, where police are guarding her. On April 27, the police formed a joint team of senior investigators to look into JehanÂ’s case. The family of Noor Jehan declared her Kari in Ratodero in Sindh.

The Gadap investigation police said that they have yet to locate her father and other family cousin on April 19. The cousins are same people who shot Jehan. Police said they are refusing to take any chances and have increased security for her at the hospital. Jehan told Daily Times that she was worried for her life and does not want to go back to her family, who she thinks would kill her.
