Police save little girl from being married off

SUKKUR: Timely action by police saved an eight-year-old girl from being married to a 35-year-old man in a village near Buxapur in Kandhkot-Kashmore district on Tuesday.

According to police sources, someone informed the DPO of Kandhkot-Kashmore that a minor girl was being married in Ghar Pahnja village.

The DPO directed the SHO of Buxapur to raid the village and recover the girl.

SHO Ali Bux Dakhan along with a police party raided the village, arrested would-be-bridegroom Abdul Wahid Domki, 35, and took into custody Hazooran, daughter of Rahib Domki.

The participants of the marriage avoided arrest by escaping, according to the sources.

When contacted, an official at the Buxapur police station said that the girl and the man would be produced in court on Wednesday.

COUPLE KILLED: A couple was shot dead and their little son was injured as armed men opened fire after intruding into their house in Rasool Bux Bhangwar village near Kandhkot early Tuesday morning.

The assailants barged into the house of Mohammad Mithal Lashari when the inmates were sleeping. They opened indiscriminate fire, killing Mohammad Mithal Lashari and his wife Hooran on the spot and injuring their son Mohammad Aslam.

The B-section police took the bodies and the injured boy to a Kandhkot hospital.
