PNCA to screen movies to mark BB’s birth anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will hold week-long programmes, including movies screening to mark the birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. To show her struggle for democracy in Pakistan, a documentary entitled ‘Roshni Ka Saffar’ would be screened continuously at National Art Gallery from June 18 to 21.

This documentary will highlight the life and struggle of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto her vision for serving the masses and bring progress and prosperity in the country, said Tauqeer Nasir, Director General of PNCA.

He said, “Shaheed Mohtarma was a great leader who sacrificed her life for the sake of democracy and these events are planned to pay tribute to the struggle of the great leader.” A movie titled ‘Dukhtar-e-Mashriq’ would be screened on June 21 with a grand cultural show to highlight the concept of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed with her strong message of ‘Harmony among Provinces’.

The cultural show will bring the culture and traditions of all the provinces together for the dwellers of twin cities and will showcase different performing arts of the country.

Besides the movie screening, a number of other activities including painting competitions, documentary screening, exhibitions and seminars would be held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Lok Virsa, National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage and National Monument during the week.
