PML-N workers thrash media men
LAHORE, Oct 12: PML-N workers attacked and thrashed media personnel when the latter went to Aiwan-i-Iqbal to cover a Defence of Democracy Conference here on Monday.
The PML-N had organised the conference to mark Oct 12, 1999, military takeover of the country, ousting the then Nawaz government.
The media personnel were entering the hall for the coverage when some policemen in plainclothes and PML-N workers stopped them from proceeding towards the rostrum to install their logos.
The workers and policemen thrashed three cameramen and some reporters on which the media crew announced a boycott of the coverage.
However, senior adviser to CM Sirdar Zulfikar Khosa, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MNAs Hamza Shahbaz and Saad Rafiq apologised to the media on the highhandedness of the party workers and promised a disciplinary action against them.
