PML-N Senator Pledges Support for Digital Rights Bill

Senator Afnanullah Khan of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and member of the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology, confirmed his support for the digital rights bill during a recent interview with a news channel. He emphasized that the PML-N would back the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) digital rights bill.

Senator Khan highlighted the collaboration between the PTA chairman and the IT minister to enhance internet speeds for users nationwide, stating that improvements are expected soon. He also mentioned that several new legislative measures have been introduced that will “yield fruitful results in the coming months.”

The senator highlighted the government’s focus on providing high-speed internet facilities as part of efforts to improve connectivity and digital infrastructure and increase investment in digital skills.

“Our goal is to create a knowledge-based economy, driven by innovation and entrepreneurship, which will ultimately spur economic growth,” Senator Khan said.

Khan outlined the government’s commitment to creating a knowledge-based economy through innovation and entrepreneurship, which he believes will spur economic growth. He discussed initiatives, including the expansion of National Incubation Centres and support for promising start-ups as part of these efforts.

In addressing challenges to digital transformation in Pakistan, Senator Khan assured that these are being actively managed and will be resolved soon.
