‘Plant for Pakistan’ becomes top trend on twitter

A recent initiative of the government “Plant for Pakistan” has become a top trend on social media website twitter. Under this initiative, 10 billion trees are planned to be planted throughout the country to protect Pakistan from environmental changes. The response on campaign was phenomenal; initially the target of planting 1.5 million trees was crossed with the number 2.5 million trees.

The plantation data retrieve from all over the country on “Plant for Pakistan” progress was as follows: 1. Sindh-809,822 plants, KPK-1,139,400 plants, GB-83,800 plants, Islamabad 58,000 plants, AJK-30,000, Punjab- 278,811 and Balochistan-56,056 plants (reported so far)

Total-24,455,899 plants (all figures are final except Balochistan) while in Balochistan number reached 95k (as mentioned by the CM Balochistan yesterday)

As far as social media is concerned, people, especially youth enthusiastically participated in this drive, till now more than 61,000 tweets are highlighting the thoughts and interest of public.

Moreover, there was a wide spread acclaim of PTI honoring one of its 100-day plan targets by actual on-ground activity and initiation of a process for implementation.
