Pir Mazhar visits ailing artiste, TV reporter
KARACHI: Senior Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq visited the residence of ailing artiste Farid Khan on Monday, a statement said.
The minister inquired about Khan’s welfare and presented him a cheque of Rs 500,000 on behalf of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. Haq said the Pakistan People’s Party respects and encourages artistes. He said Khan made people happy, but now he himself is sad.
Khan thanked Haq and Gilani for remembering and assisting him in his time of adversity.
The minister also visited the residence of local TV reporter Faisal Rajput, who was kidnapped and injured by unidentified culprits. Haq asked after Rajput who said some elements had threatened to kill him. The minister assured taking steps for bringing Rajput’s assailants to justice.
