PFUJ hails constitution of judicial commission in Balochistan
KARACHI: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists(PFUJ) has appreciated Balochistan Government for setting up of a judicial commission to investigate recent murder of Irshad Mastoi, General Secretary of Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ).
The Judicial Commission headed by Justice Mohammad Hashim Kakkar of Balochistan High Court will encompass the entire incident during which Abdul Rasool and Mohammad Younus were also killed along with Mastoi at their work place, a news agency in Quetta.
Acting president of PFUJ, Salim Shahid and Secretary General, Khurshid Abbasi in a joint statement on Tuesday hailed the Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik for honoring his commitment to the journalists’ community.
They said this decision needed to be also replicated by federal as well as other provincial governments and judicial commissions must be immediately constituted to investigate instances during which members of journalist community may have been killed in the country.
There is also need to nab the culprits and award them with exemplary punishment, they added.
