ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid Friday said that the media should act as a watchdog to check corruption in the society.

He said this while launching a National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) awareness song on the theme “Say No to Corruption” in a meeting with Deputy Chairman NAB Rear Admiral (Retd) Saeed Ahmed Sargana, who called on him. He said that media could be an effective tool in making Pakistan a corruption free society.

Appreciating the role of independent media in exposing and pointing out unlawful practices of the corrupt elements in the society, he hoped that media would continue its positive role in the same direction.

He said transparency and good governance had been the hallmark of PML-N government as not a single case of corruption surfaced since it came into power. The minister appreciated the NAB awareness campaign and assured his full assistance for the national cause.
