Meanwhile in Multan, SSP Operations Shaukat Abbas ordered deployment of elite commandoes at the Jang, Geo News and The News offices in the cantonment area. During an informal chat with journalists at his office, he assured complete cooperation and provision of foolproof security to the Jang Group.

The SSP Operations also promised deploying security personnel around the Multan Press Club and said the Punjab government had sent a letter instructing the police to ensure security to the journalists at every cost.

Police personnel would also patrol around all the media offices in plainclothes, he added.
