Pemra to handle cable TV system from 15th
ISLAMABAD- Consequent upon the establishment of Pakistan Electronic Media, Regulatory Authority (Pemra), the task of regulating the cable television system and their functioning has been shifted from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to Pemra.
All matters relating to processing of applications, collection of’ fees, issuance of cable TV licenses and the enforcement of rules and regulations governing their operation, currently being carried out by PTA, would henceforth be dealt with by the newly created body, Pemra.
The public and the Cable TV operators are advised to refer their cases pertaining to the field of activities of cable television network to Pemra instead of PTA for appropriate action by them.
