PEMRA signs agreement with BU for cable TV survey
QUETTA- Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) here on July 2nd, 2003 signed an agreement with Balochistan University with regard to conducting cable TV survey in the province.
The agreement was reached after a meeting between Chairman PEMRA Mian Muhammad Javed and Vice-Chancellor Balochistan University Justice M.A. Rashid.
Both the sides also exchanged views on establishing a radio unit for Mass Communication department of the university.
The VC informed the PEMRA Chairman that the federal secretary Information had assured him of complete cooperation and supply of certain necessary equipments for the purpose.
Chairman PEMRA while stressing the need to promote electronic media in the country on modern line said that his institution was implementing certain projects in this regard. He also appreciated efforts of the VC for establishing discipline in the university.
Later, he also addressed the students of Mass Communication department and informed them of the importance of media in the present age.
General Manager PEMRA Yousaf Aziz, Regional Manager Council of Complaints Zahid Hussain and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
