PEMRA drive against cable operators continues

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has ardently undertaken a series of crack down since September 9 onwards against cable operators relaying channels that are not in consonance with PEMRA laws.

The crackdown operation by PEMRA enforcement teams continued as it raided around 270 more head-ends and seized/confiscated systems of around 73 cable operators in various parts of the country, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Kasur, Kharian, Nankana Sahib, Multan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Sinjhoro, Sanghar, Daharki, Sukkur, Peshawar, Haripur, Havelian, Sawabi, Tarbela, Ghazi, Abbottabad, DI Khan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Hassanabdal, Attock, Gujar Khan, Sargodha, Quetta, Pishin, Sibbi, Turbat, Loralai, Mastung, Naushki, Kalat etc.
