Pemra chief asked to move SC against LHC decision on DTH licences
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Monday directed the authority chairman to file an appeal with the Supreme Court against the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision of setting aside DTH licences auction.
At its 125th meeting here, Pemra asked its Chairman Absar Alam about the delay in going against the LHC decision. It also expressed disappointment over what it called the unprofessional editorial judgement of 29 TV channels regarding the airing of a fake news about a blast in Lahore recently, spreading panic and fear among public.
The meeting asked the Pemra chairman to take appropriate measures against these channels so that they follow the code of conduct and improve their respective TV channels weak internal systems.
