Pemra asked to keep check on channels
SLAMABAD, April 28 2006: the National Assembly standing committee on cabinet secretariat has said unethical and anti-cultural programmes being shown by some TV channels cable operators. In its meeting on April 27, the committee asked Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to keep check and take action against those channels owners and cable operators who violate the Pemra rules and regulations.
Minister of state for law, human rights and Justice Malik Akram Bhinder, Abdul Majeed Pirzada, Muhammad Faiz Tamman, Samina Raheel Qazi, and Abid Ali Ummang.Ahmad Raza Maneka chaired the meeting.
