PBC launches online channel

HYDERABAD: Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) has launched a web-based channel called ‘web channel’ for disseminating information about the flood situation in the province. The channel has been launched on the directions of Director General PBC, Murtaza Solangi.

A PBC spokesman apprised APP on Sunday that the channel launched by Radio Pakistan, Hyderabad would broadcast a special programme from 11am to 1pm everyday.

It would comprise news reports about the federal and provincial ministers regarding the flood situation, and discussions with public representatives and government officials about the flood-affected people and areas.

According to the spokesman, Radio Pakistan, Hyderabad has also set up a mobile radio station, with frequency at MF 94, which will broadcast reports about the flood-hit areas. Presently, MF 94 was broadcasting programmes in Dadu, Moro, Pat Sharif and other areas in proximity, he added.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that in order to get more foreign aid for the flood affected people, talks were going on with United Nations besides other donor agencies, while UN Chief Ban Ki-Moon was already visiting Pakistan in this regard. Qureshi appealed to the disciples of Ghosia Jam’aat to come forward for helping the flood affectees.
