PBA Raises Alarm Over Tax Changes Impacting Broadcasters
On December 6, a delegation of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) met with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Inland Revenue Policy Dr. Najeeb Memon to discuss taxation changes affecting the broadcasting industry.
The delegation, which included Ejazul Haq, Kazim Khan, Mohsin Bilal Khan, Muhammad Ali Butt, and Ejaz Bhutta, raised concerns over the removal of the sales tax withholding adjustment feature from the online sales tax return system. The change, they said, has led to confusion and operational challenges, increasing financial strain on broadcasters.
The PBA representatives also pointed out the significant financial burden caused by amendments to the online tax portal.
FBR Chairman Langrial directed officials to immediately investigate and resolve the issues presented by the PBA delegation.
