PBA flays attack on Jang offices, cable disruption

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on Jang Group offices and the disruption of cable network in some areas of Karachi for a short time by workers of a political party, says a press release. In the past, other political parties have also taken illegal measures against the public’s right to know. In an emergent meeting held in Karachi on Tuesday, the board of directors of the PBA discussed the issue and decided to form a sub-committee to take appropriate measures to protect its members from such coercive tactics which interfere with media freedom enshrined in the Constitution. The PBA resolved to meet the challenge with full force.

Muhammad Aslam Kazi, Syed Sarfraz Hussain Shah, Arshad Zubari, Ilyas Shakir, Mir Ibrahim Rahman, Taher A Khan, Shakeel Masud Hussain, Duraid Qureshi, Abdul Jabbar, Sultan Ali Lakhani and Arshad W Kiyani attended the meeting.
