PBA delegation discusses tax issues with Sindh CM
KARACHI: A delegation of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) discussed with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah issues pertaining to taxes deducted by the provincial government from the PBA members.
The members of the delegation, included Arshad Zuberi and Saleem Adil Muhammad Butt. Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Waqar Mehdi, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Alamuddin Billo, Finance Secretary Sohail Rajput, Chairman Sindh Revenue Board Tashfeen Ahmed also participated in the meeting.
The delegation members expressed their concern over the taxes deduction by the Sindh government on PBA business earned from other provinces. The were of the view that taxes were already deducted by the relevant provincial governments while the Sindh government also deducts taxes from the PBA member on the same business.
The chief minister said issues of the media will be resolved on priority basis. During the meeting, he formed a committee, including members from the PBA and the Sindh government, to look into issues related to sales tax already deducted by other provincial governments. He assured the PBA delegation that the Sindh government would resolve their issues on priority basis.
