PBA criticizes Pemra’s action
KARACHI: A statement issued by PBA condemned PEMRA’s order
issued today to suspend the license of PBA’s member TV Channel “NEO”.
The statement added that by doing this PEMRA has endangered the livelihood of
over 600 workers. On the one hand PEMRA continues to issue fresh licenses to
new TV channels, although the existing analogue cable system does not have the
capacity to carry more channels and on the other it is suspending licenses of
channels already on air.
PBA demands PEMRA withdraw its suspension order and give the Channel a fair and
sympathetic hearing.”
