Paknet launches new facility
KARACHI – The Paknet, a subsidiary of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) assigned to provide Internet services, has introduced, on December 16, a new facility for the subscribers, through which the telephone customers can avail Internet facility by just making a phone call. According to the Paknet Divisional Engineer Zubair Qureshi on Thursday said under that new scheme all subscribers would have to dial 0900-77718 to obtain a password. The cost would be charged in the subscriber’s monthly telephone bill, he added.
The password would enable the subscribers to use Internet facility for a total of two hours after obtaining the password. After introduction of that scheme the subscribers would not have to go any service center to purchase net cards and hours. Zubair Qureshi added that the Paknet had provided the dialup Internet facility to over 250,000 subscribers in 2,000 cities and towns for last four years throughout the country. The Paknet had a 25 percent of Pakistan’s Internet market share.
