Pakistan to export $50m worth of software products and services

KARACHI- Pakistan will export software products and services of US $50 million by end of this fiscal year.

This was disclosed by President Pakistan Software Association (PASHA), Hamza Mateen while speaking at opening of APTECH Software Incubator at Tariq Road.

Master Business Partner of APTECH Dr. Junaid Ahmad, heads of different APTECH Centers, Amir Zahoor, Behram Ahmed, Shahid Kazimi, Tahir Ahmed, IT experts and students were present.

Hamza Mateen said Pakistan has bright prospects in software exports and IT exports should guide and cooperate with the IT students.

He said a lot of work is being done in Software exports in the Country, but it needed a public private sector collaboration to push it further forward. He said the country could enhance exports by developing Software products and services.

Earlier, Dr. Junaid Ahmed in his welcome address said APTECH has invested Rs.300 million and established 14 centers across the country with 7000 students enrolled. He said student’s potential would be exploited in these centers.

Mohammad Atif Farid, chairman software Incubator said these incubators are aimed at introducing students to international exposure about software technology, practical job experience, web designing. E-commerce, M-Commerce, Data application, accounting, planning and budgeting service. Later Hamza Mateen inaugurated the incubator.
