Pakistan Television (PTV) recommends sacking of 14 Nawaz appointees

ISLAMABAD- PTV Management has recommended the termination of services of 14 officials, appointed in higher grade on contract during the last Nawaz government, confirmed by the Managing Director.

Those politically appointed officials whose services have been recommended for termination to Secretary Information who is also the Chairman of Pakistan Television (PTV) predominantly include Azhar Lodhi, Controller Presentation, 1, Farhana Aziz (daughter of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader Sartaj Aziz), Controller Group 9, Shahid Saleem Butt, Controller Achieve and Zia Din Butt, News Editor.

Informed Sources disclosed that some of the officials were hired on contract basis after reaching the age of superannuation. For the termination of services of these officials the case is pending with the office of Secretary of Information Ministry Khawaja Ijaz Sarwar for the past week. PTV waits response.

Officials in Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) told The Nation that Contractual employees have been getting heavy salary packages that range over Rs one hundred thousands including all perks privileges attached to their positions concerned.

As many as 100 employees at different salary packages were appointed on different posts in violation of the relevant rules and regulations of the Corporation official sources added.
