Pakistan Television (PTV) plans production House Company
KARACHI- Ather Viqar Azeem said that the Pakistan Television was likely to launch its production house company and get it registered at the Karachi Stock Exchange.
He was talking to the journalists at the press briefing organized by the Karachi Television (KTV) at the KTV Station to tell about the next quarters engagements of the PTV.
He said it was agreed in the recent General Manager’s meeting in Islamabad to launch a production house as a limited company and float its share.
He said the company would function under the control of the PTV and would facilitate private production house in preparing programmes for the TV and other channels. PTV would provide facilities of studio, machinery, and technical assistance and related support to private producers.
Azeem said if the private producers requested for the services of a programme producer or a technician, it would also be provided.
He said this would be purely a commercial venture aimed at earning money and ensuring quality entertainment to the TV viewers.
Azeem said all the private producers would now have to get their pilot programmes approved by the PTV. He said, “Nothing would go on air without proper scrutiny and approval of the PTV. The private producers have agreed to this decision and would abide by the do and don’t of the PTV.”
