Pakistan strongly condemns brutal murder of Pearl: foreign office
ISLAMABAD- Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned the brutal murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and said it was determined to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“The murderers of Daniel Pearl are dangerous criminals devoid of all humanity and their barbaric act is a crime against Pakistan and an outrage against the cherished values of our society,” a Foreign Office spokesman said here.
“The government strongly condemns this heinous crime and is determined to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” the spokesman said in a statement here.
The spokesman also expressed profound condolences to the wife of the journalist and his family members.
“The government and the people of Pakistan are deeply saddened by the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl, a highly respected member of the journalist community, who was kidnapped in Karachi last month.
“We share the grief of his wife and other members of the bereaved family and offer our profound condolences to them.”
The spokesman also expressed the government’s resolve to continue to fight against terrorism, in concert with the international community.
