LAHORE: After a crisis of almost four weeks during which the import of all foreign films in Pakistan, including Hollywood and Bollywood movies, had become a question mark, Pakistani film and cinema industry has once again come out victorious.

An understanding reached between the Pakistan Film Producers Association and Pakistan Exhibitors Association finally led to court orders enabling once again the continuous supply of foreign films, while providing a fair opportunity to Pakistani films also, says a press release.

The conspiracy to stop the legal import and exhibition of Hollywood and Bollywood movies was hatched to stop the release of Dhoom 3 under the banner of Geo Films in Pakistan. It was the legal right of Geo Films and they foiled this conspiracy after an untiring struggle.

Many people in the film and legal fraternities worked day and night to make this achievement possible. These include importers, distributors, actors, and directors from the Pakistani film industry, including Javed Sheikh, Humayun Saeed, Bilal Lashari, Imran Kazmi, Syed Noor, Shahzad Rafique and leading lawyers including Ali Zafar, Ali Sibtain Fazli, Hasan Jawad, Ashtar Ausaf and Nadeem Ahmed.

Finally, the Central Board of Film Censors and Sindh Board of Film Censors have now approved for exhibition six films, including the upcoming blockbuster of 2013, Dhoom 3, which opens under the banner of YRF and Geo Films on December 20 all over Pakistan. The production team and other professionals, who were involved in the production of Dhoom 3, have praised the outstanding acting by Amir Khan.
