Orakzai orders early recovery of journalist
PESHAWAR: NWFP Governor Lt-Gen (Retd) Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai has directed the political authorities of the Khyber Agency to recover kidnapped journalist Sohail Qalander and his colleague Niaz Muhammad without any further delay.
He issued stern directions in this regard during a meeting with Secretary Law and Order Fata Arbab Muhammad Arif and Political Agent Khyber Dr Tashfeen Khan at the Governor’s House on Monday.
Giving details of the actions taken so far by the political administration, the political agent informed the governor that criminals belonging to the Shalober Qambarkhel tribe were reportedly involved in the case and that the tribe was being thoroughly pressurised to fulfil their tribal responsibilities.
The details of persons arrested were also presented to the governor. The political agent expressed the hope that the kidnapped person and his friend would soon be got released unconditionally.
