Office of English daily attacked
On 30 January 1999, three unidentified-armed men ransacked the offices of English daily Khyber Mail International based at Peshawar (city of NWFP province).
The attackers severely beat up the messenger Mohammad Javed and ransacked the office. He told the police that the intruders bearing Kalashinkov and a pistol.
The attackers tied up his feet and smashed the furniture, fax machine, computer monitors and took away phone sets. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) have ordered an investigation.
