Notice served on TV anchor
KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation served a legal notice upon a TV channel (not Aaj News) anchor for having uttered defamatory, false and libelous statements against the Corporation and its management representatives through his programme on October 21, 2010.
The purpose behind the Legal Notice was to underline the manner in which the media is furthering motives of certain interested quarters without verifying and/or substantiating the content before it. The Legal Notice also called in question the unwarranted and defamatory insinuations made against the national flag carrier and its management, for which no satisfactory proof and/or evidence was presented. The incumbent Managing Director of the Airline has also served a notice of defamation upon a manoeuvred caller on the show, who made slanderous, defamatory and damaging statements against the person of the incumbent Managing Director.
