Notable Personalities: Book on Hindu scheduled caste launched
HYDERABAD: A book about Hindu scheduled caste personalities from southern Sindh was launched at a ceremony in Hyderabad on Monday. ‘Megh once mala’ [a garland of Meghwadh community], authored by Somji Dharani, comprises profiles of 108 persons who earned a name for themselves in various fields. The author said all these people won their spurs despite numerous odds stacked against their academic and professional careers, besides the stigma and discrimination for being members of the scheduled caste. Four of them have also received presidential awards.
