Nizami’s role in journalism lauded
ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Dashqin Shikarov, has appreciated the role of Managing Director and Chief Editor of Nawa-i-Waqt Group, Majid Nizami, in the field of journalism.In his message, he said that year 2012 marks the 72nd anniversary of Urdu daily Nawa-i-Waqt.
During these years, the publications and TV programmes of the Group have become most popular in Pakistan and a treasure of information and entertainment for the people of Pakistan. “You can be proud of the growth you have achieved through hard work and we realise that the success of your Group is largely dependent on having strong and capable team. The close coordination of the Group with Azerbaijan Embassy, regular publications and TV programmes on my country have popularised Nawa-i-Waqt Group in Azerbaijan too. Here I can’t help mentioning of personal relations between us which indeed play tremendously on cementing ties between two brotherly establishments,” the ambassador said.
The anniversary also coincided with the 50th jubilee of journalistic activity of Majid Nizami, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Nawa-i-Waqt Group. His journalistic talent and dedicated work greatly contributed not only towards strengthening and popularisation of publications and TV programmes but promotion of ideology and spirit of Pakistan as well, he added.“I would like to avail this opportunity to extend sincerest congratulations to you and all the team members on this very important and happy event and request to pass my felicitations, regards and recognition of the brilliancy gifted by the Almighty to Majid Nizami,” he concluded.
