Newspaper Wage Board award by Oct 8
ISLAMABAD- Chairman of 7th Wage Board for Newspaper Employees, Justice Raja Afrasiab Khan said the final award would be announced by Oct 8.
After the concluding session of the two-day meeting, Justice Afrasiab said the award would be announced according to the mandate given to the board.
During the meeting, he said, 18 newspaper employees appeared before the Wage-Board for recording their statements to determine the rate of wages for newspaper employees.
The meeting, chaired by Justice Afrasiab Khan, was attended by representatives of the newspaper employees in the board, including All Pakistan Newspaper Employees Confederation (Apnec) Chairman Abdul Hameed Chhapra, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President I.H. Raashed, Apnec Secretary General Pervez Shaukat and Balochistan Union of Journalists President Abdul Majid Fouz.
The last meeting of the Wage Board would be held in Peshawar for recording evidence of the workers.
The sub-committee of the board would meet on September 13 at Islamabad to reach a consensus about the seventh Wage Board award. For final arguments, another meeting of the board would be held on September 14 at Islamabad.
