Newsmen criticize govt policy

QUETTA, January 27,2005: Journalists of Dera Bugti have criticized what they called the government’s discriminatory policy against local newsmen who were kept out of an official briefing on the Sui situation.

A statement faxed to newspapers here said that the ISPR had brought to Dera Bugti a group of journalists from Quetta for the briefing held by the PPL management.

The statement regretted that local media personnel, including representatives of the PTV and Radio Pakistan were denied access to the briefing on the pretext that they belonged to the Bugti tribe.

Meanwhile reports reaching here from Sui indicate that the PPL management has transferred Dr Mohammad Ali and Dr Usman who were recently interrogated by police in the lady doctor’s assault case.
