Newly-wed woman killed

KARACHI: A newly-wed woman was shot dead at her house, the Sachal police said on Monday.

Sugra, who had married Ghulam Muhammad five months ago, was found dead with a bullet in her neck at their house in Bilawal Shah Noorani Goth.

Muhammad said he was not at home when the incident took place, and Meo, Fareed and his brother Rasheed were involved in the murder.

He said Sugra was originally supposed to marry Fareed, but the wedding had been cancelled. “Sugra’s dying words were, ‘Fareed shot me when I refused to leave with him’.”

A man was shot dead and another wounded in a firing incident in Bohra Pir, the Nabi Bux police said. Culprits on a motorcycle opened fire at an electric shop, injuring Amin and Shamji.
