Newly-wed couple killed

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A newly-married couple was killed by the brothers of bride in Shahbaz Colony, Kandiaro, on Monday.

Ayaz, 22, and his cousin Razia, 18, had left their homes about three months back and were living in district Matiari after getting married.

A few days ago, brothers of Razia approached them and reconciled the matter with the help of their elders.

However, on Monday, Nazakat, Farooq and Ali Raza, all brothers of Razia, entered the house of Ayaz and opened fire on their sister killing her on the spot.

Ayaz escaped from the house but the accused intercepted him in the street and dragged him into the house and gunned him down. The bodies were taken to taluka hospital Kandiaro for post-mortem. No case has been registered so far.

Report sought: The Ist Judicial Magistrate of Moro, Sohail Ahmed Mashori, taking suo motu notice of reports of torture on a nine-year-old boy on Monday, has directed SP investigation to record statement of the victim and submit a report within four days.

The boy Mehtab Sabqi had allegedly entered into the house of Syed Sikandar Shah near Moro with an intention of theft, but the inmates woke up and the boy escaped. However, Sikandar Shah got hold of the boy and seriously injured him by piercing nails in his leg. The boy had been referred to People’s Medical College Hospital, Nawabshah, in a precarious condition.
