Newly elected Islamabad High Court Journalists Association (IHCJA) takes oath
Federal Minister for Law & Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday administered oath to the newly-elected Islamabad High Court Journalists Association (IHCJA) and hoped the journalist community would continue to carry out their duties in a free, fair and transparent manner for the cause of democracy, freedom of speech, truth and justice. Senior anchorperson Hamid Mir, newly-elected President of the IHC Bar Association Navid Hayat Malik, Secretary Sabir Rizwan Kiani, Advocate General of Islamabad Jahangir Jadoon officers of the court and a large number of journalists also attended the oath-taking ceremony.Among those who took oath included newly elected President of the IHCJA Rizwan Qazi , Secretary General, Hussain Ahmed Chaudhry, Senior Vice President Zeshan Syed, Vice President Farah Mah Jabeen, Finance Secretary Haseeb Malik, Information Secretary Ambreen Ali, Joint secretaries, Imran Mansab Khan and Raja Bashart.
Members of the IHCJA’s Governing Body Zubair Qureshi, Shahzad Malik, Adil Abbasi, Asia Kausar and Zamir Hussain were also sworn in on that occasion. The law minister while referring to the unfortunate incident of torture on some court reporters by the police on Feb 28 during Imran Khan’s hearing in the IHC offered his deepest sympathies and assured transparent inquiry and justice in that matter.
