New Pak-Türkiye Media Centre Opens at NED University

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) inaugurated the Pak-Türkiye Media Centre today at NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi. The facility, established in collaboration with the university, is designed to support online remote education and offer diploma programs in media-related fields.

Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Vice-Chancellor of NED University, expressed gratitude towards TİKA for realizing a long-standing goal of the university to have its studio for online and remote education. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu highlighted the enduring friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan, noting that the new media center is expected to strengthen these ties further.

Dursun Ali Yaşacan, head of the department, remarked on TİKA’s ongoing involvement in media projects worldwide as well as across Pakistan, including recent initiatives in Islamabad. He shared his enthusiasm about the studio’s potential to cater to diverse educational needs at one of Pakistan’s prominent universities.

The ceremony also marked the studio’s first live broadcast, featuring appearances from Yaşacan, Sangu, Lodi, Pro Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Tufail, and TİKA Karachi Coordinator Halil İbrahim Başaran.
