Nawabshah council approves uplift funds

NAWABSHAH: The executive district officer education should himself submit a report on closed schools in the district, in case his subordinates remain absent from a coming meeting of the district council.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the council, held here at the Pir Qurban Hall on Thursday. It was presided over by district Naib Nazim and Convener Abd-ul-Haq Jamali.

Earlier, the Naib Nazim briefed the district council members about the agenda of the current session while the minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed by the current meeting.

Immediately after the beginning of the session, the district council members passed a condolence resolution and offered Fateha for senior journalist Munir Ahmad Arain of Shahpur Jahanian.

Conducting the routine business, the House unanimously approved the ongoing repair work of the road from Jam Sahib Town to Head Jamrao. It approved funds for the management committees of six schools in Jhoro Shar Union Council (UC). An amount of Rs 550,000 was also approved for the purchase and installation of gymnastic machines at the Sports Stadium. The House also gave approval to bricklaying on passages of graveyards in UCs 7, 8 and 9.

The meeting resolved to invite the district police officer to brief the House on the law and order situation in the district.

The speakers at the meeting included Syed Munir Ahmad Shah, Islam Khan Zardari, Ghulam Mustafa Soomro, Chandoo Mal, Dr Shafi Muhammad, Muhammad Husain Bughio, Dr Naeem and Engineer Abdul Rasool Brohi.
