Murderer awarded death sentence
FAISALABAD, April 19, 2005:Anti-Terrorist Court, Faisalabad, has awarded death sentence on two counts to one involved in a murder-cum-rape case of Gojra.
According to prosecution, Ehsan Ali of Chak No 423-JB had raped and later strangulated to death a four-year-old Sidra on February 20, 2005. The ill-fated girl was daughter of his cousin. The murderer after committing the crime had thrown the dead body into a latrine.
The prosecution presented 13 witnesses in this case. The learned Judge, Chaudhry Muhammad Yousuf Ojla, on Monday awarded death sentence on two counts to Ehsan. He has also been directed to pay fine of Rs100,000 and compensation of Rs200,000 to the relatives of the deceased. The convict will have to undergo five-year imprisonment if failed to pay the fine.
