Mumtaz Bhutto questions role of media
Sindh National Front (SNF) Chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, in a press statement issued Tuesday, asked authorities concerned if suppressing clarification statements was part of the job of the independent media.
He criticised elements in the media for their alleged biases and said that particular groups in the media were defaming the media as a whole only for their personal gains.
Bhutto referred to the statement of Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri and Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro in which they said that no one was above the law. Bhutto said that this seemed to be a joke because the writ of the government in the country, especially in Sindh, had become a joke. He said that the current leaders could not even dare to arrest the murderers of their party leader or register a case. He alleged that the government had surrendered to criminals. Bhutto also thanked those who supported him in his struggles.
