MQM condemns attack on TV host Sheryar
KARACHI: Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the murderous attack on private TV channel host Sheryar Sherry in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, says a press release on Wednesday.
The committee termed this attack by the criminal elements as dastardly. The committee said that the programme being hosted by Sheryar Sherry was unveiling the activities of the criminal elements. Sheryar Sherry was getting threats from the criminals because of this programme.
The committee termed the murderous attack on him as a direct attack on the freedom of press and media itself. The committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and Provincial Home Minister to take serious notice of the attempt on the life of Sheryar Sherry and order for the arrest of the perpetrators.
