Mohasab issue: Officials accused of creating law and order situation

PESHAWAR- Some officials in the civil administration are allegedly involved in a series of conscious efforts to create law and order situation in the NWFP, sources revealed.

These sources particularly mentioned recent publication of a news in a local newspaper a few days back about the write-up in daily “Mohasab” invoked no reaction from any quarter but after five days, when another newspaper splashed a news saying that the write-up published on May 29 was blasphemous, a law and order situation was created purposefully.

Sources maintained that before the news saw the light of the day, there was a detailed meeting between the management of the said daily and certain other disgruntled elements.

Some vested interest and the police were also allegedly involved in the campaign to create disturbance in the district. In this direction, sources cited holding of rallies and other demonstration, following the publication of the news.

Without prior information, offices of the daily “Mohasab” were raided and some of its workers taken into custody. The press of the newspaper was sealed.

Sources disclosed intelligence agencies had already submitted detailed reports regarding the developments. They also warned if corrective measures are not taken at the earliest, thing may move from bad to worse.

The residents of the Abbottabad have urged the Chief Executive and NWFP Government to direct for action against the district administration officials and other elements out to destroy peaceful atmosphere in Abbottabad.
