Missing children’s website launched

ISLAMABAD, September 18 2005: In collaboration with Society for the Protection of the Rights of Child (SPARC), Sahil, an NGO, Hotline Asia and Islamabad Police, Elevation Communication has launched a website dedicated to reuniting missing children in Pakistan with their families.

The launching of the website marks a major development in the efforts of welfare organisations to tackle the issue of missing children in Pakistan.

Using the web-site, http://www.pakchild.org, one can select suitable cases to post photographs of missing children along with detailed descriptions of the individuals to ease the search for any organisation or even police also.

Arshad Ali Qureshi, Director Elevation Communications said it is unfortunate that Pakistan does not have any database system for the missing children while in the Europe, the parents of the missing children at their priority contact with ‘missing kids societies’ to register the profile of their child.
