Minorities protest blasts at Lahore churches

PESHAWAR: To strongly condemn suicide attacks on two Churches in Lahore, hundreds of Christians along with Hindu and Sikhs blocked main GT Road for all sort of traffic in protest on Sunday and held government of Punjab responsible for not providing appropriate security to the worship places of minorities. They burnt tyres and blocked road for three hours.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, the enraged protesting minorities alleged that the government has failed in Punjab province to provide protection not only to Christians but also to other communities too.

The protesting rally led by Sardar Soran Singh, Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Minorities. They started the protest walk from Hashtnagri Chowk and after passing through different routes turned into a big rally where their leaders addressed them.

While chanting slogans against government for not providing security to their worship places, they called upon Punjab government to nab immediately the perpetrators of Lahore Churshes attacks. The protesters who also sit in front of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly said that it was the right time to take action against that forces that were involved in such barbaric attacks.

In his address, Advisor Soran Singh said that KP government would take up the issue of providing security to minorities with the federal government soon.
