Meera’s pre-arrest bail extended
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Shafiq-ur-Rehman has extended the pre-arrest bail of film star Meera and four others in a theft case and criminal intimidation charges until September 26.
On Thursday’s hearing, the court extended the interim bail granted to Meera, Shafqat Zahra, Meera’s mother, Syed Muhammad Sarwar, Meera’s father, Ahsan Abbas, Meera’s brother, and Mushtaq Ahmed, her brother-in-law. The defendant’s counsel was not present in the court.
The investigation officer informed the court that interrogation was still under way and it would be completed in the next one week.
A case was registered with Defence-A police station against Meera, her parents, her uncle, brother and brother-in-law on charges of theft and criminal intimidation on the complaint of Meera’s alleged husband Attiq-ur-Rehman from Faisalabad.
