ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday observed that reports on corruption continue to come due to the media and had there been no media, the corrupt elements would have sold out and devoured the country. A two-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing Intelligence Bureau (IB) Secret Fund case. Sardar Muhammad Ghazi appeared on behalf of a senior journalist and sought time for filing reply.

The chief justice remarked: “Serious allegations stand against you. Case is running since long and you are not giving reply.” Attorney General (AG) Munir A Malik said: “All know the facts and no one can be misled now. I had earlier said and still say that no wrong thing was done. I assure you the sitting AG will not allow any wrong thing to be done. “The news being printed in media nowadays should be put into the dustbin. Contradicting these media reports is tantamount to accord a status to them.”
