Media more free in Pakistan than any other country: Fawad
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that media is more free in Pakistan than any other country.
Addressing the participants of Islamabad Security Dialogue, he regretted the absence of defamation laws in the country and referred the campaign launched against a law drafted by the government for effective regulation of the media.
The Minister said Indian state media is involved in a smear campaigns against Pakistan. He said Disinformation Lab was also set up by India to propagate false news against Pakistan.
Fawad Chaudhry said concerted efforts are being made by the government to bring its digital media wing at par with that of the other countries.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government set up the official digital media wing and started the digitalization of the state-owned media organizations.
