Lahore: Pakistan Association for Difficulties in Learning (PADL) on Thursday urged media organisations to highlight the concept of learning disabilities, particularly Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.

PADL, a target oriented project which is basically the idea of FRESH CEO Ashba Khan, aims at different segments of society to find out learning disabilities among the children and provides solutions to solve such problems with special focuses on how to overcome the issue of learning disability for which most of the children are dropped out from schools. The workshop was organised where number of media representatives and volunteers from different universities in Pakistan and abroad had come to take part.

PADL organisers gave presentations on learning disabilities. They said learning disabilities do not mean any physical disability but mental disorder and mental disability which creates hurdle for a child to understand the basic concepts of any subject and deprives him of recognising words and solving small sums of mathematics. Hamid Walid, the co-organiser, said journalists are agents of change whose full participation and writings on mental disorder and learning disabilities can lead us to solve these problems.
