Media denied access to ambassador’s meeting
SIALKOT – The local journalists were not allowed to attend the meeting of the US Ambassador in Pakistan at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry office, as the SCCI building was totally sealed by the security officials during the Ambassador’s one and half hours stay there.
Mr Richard Olson also visited Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to the SCCI officials, the US Ambassador discussed in details the opportunities to further strengthen ties between the US and Pakistani businesses, asking the Sialkot exporters that businesses can take advantage of the U.S. Generalized System of Preferences, which allows than 3,500 Pakistani goods to enter the United States duty free.
He stressed boosted economic ties between the US and Pakistan. On the occasion, the SCCI building was totally sealed. No one including the local newsmen was allowed to cover the event. The SCCI members suffered a great ordeal due to the sealing of SCCI building by the security officials.
